Thank you for signing up for this tutorial! Email marketing has been shown to be the most effective electronic marketing tool available. There are many options for sharing your message with your audience - most are a "pay-to-play" option (such as Google Adwords and Facebook Advertising). The tools available on the social media channels are effective when you have a well-crafted message and have dialed-in your target market. Email lets you send a message to those who are already connected to you.
This tutorial will walk you through the steps to create and maintain your email list; create and edit templates; create and send a campaign. This tutorial assumes you already have or will set-up a Mailchimp account.
List Maintenance is Crucial
When you make a new connection, send them a direct email message from your regular email account. Remind them how you met and that you would like to stay in contact with them. Next, Add Them to your email list. On your next email update, they will have the option to opt-out if they do not want to receive further messages. No problem - that's why you are using an email service! If a person opts-out, Mailchimp will automatically remove them from the list. Remember, they will never have the opportunity to Opt-out if you have never added them (or never send an update). So, keep your list updated and send a message once-in-a-while.
